Kings Landing célèbre 50 ans passés à donner vie à l’histoire. L’emblématique musée d’histoire vivante, situé sur les rives du Wolastoq, est ouvert tous les jours jusqu’au 14 octobre afin d’offrir au public une saison prolongée pour participer à cette année marquante.

Situé à 20 minutes de Fredericton, Kings Landing permet aux visiteurs de voyager dans le temps et de découvrir la vie dans la vallée fluviale, de 1820 à 1925. Tout au long de la saison, Kings Landing propose des fins de semaine thématiques rendant hommage aux familles reliées aux 70 maisons et bâtiments historiques, qui composent le village recréé du XIX^e siècle.

L’événement marquant de la saison sera la célébration du 50^e anniversaire, le samedi 20 juillet. Cela marquera le 50^e anniversaire de l’ouverture officielle de Kings Landing en 1974. Les visiteurs peuvent à nouveau se rendre sur place pendant les vacances d’été, comme le 1er juillet et la fête du Nouveau-Brunswick, grâce à l’ouverture sept jours sur sept. La vente aux enchères annuelle de l’Action de grâce, qui a lieu le 12 octobre, est également une tradition appréciée par de nombreux visiteurs.

Le retour du camp de nuit pour les jeunes, Cousins germains et Parenté ainsi que les camps de jour offrent aux enfants la possibilité de faire partie du village et d’apprendre l’histoire grâce à des expériences pratiques.

Les possibilités de restauration à l’auberge King’s Head et au café Axe & Plough, ainsi que les possibilités de magasinage au Peddler’s Market et au magasin Grant, ne manqueront pas de compléter votre visite.

Celebrating 50 years

Kings Landing is celebrating 50 years of bringing history to life. The iconic living history museum, located on the banks of the Wolastoq, is open daily until October 14 to offer an extended season for the public to partake in this milestone year.

Located 20 minutes from Fredericton, Kings Landing offers visitors the chance to step back in time and learn about life in the river valley in the era of 1820-1925. Throughout the season, Kings Landing offers themed weekends that pay homage to the families connected to the 70 historic homes and buildings that make up the recreated 19^th century village.

The highlight event of the season will be the 50^th anniversary celebration on Saturday, July 20. This marks 50 years to the day since Kings Landing officially opened in 1974. The day promises to be a memorable one for those who can join in the festivities. The public can learn more about this event at kingslanding.nb.ca.

Guests can once again visit during summer holidays like July 1 and New Brunswick Day with the seven day a week operation. The annual thanksgiving auction on October 12 is also a beloved tradition for many frequent visitors.

The return of the overnight youth camp, Visiting Cousins and Family Kin, as well as the day camps, offer children the opportunity to become part of the village and learn about history with hands-on experiences.

Dining options at the King’s Head Inn and the Axe & Plough Café, as well as shopping opportunities at the Peddler’s Market and the Grant Store, are sure to complete your visit.
